These incredible photographs showcase a field scattered with more than 40,000 ripened pumpkins which are on the verge of being collected for Halloween.

The spooky produce is cultivated at Maxeys Farm Shop, in Kirklington, Nottinghamshire, across a field equivalent to eight football pitches in size.

Every single pumpkin is home-cultivated from seeds planted in June through to harvest time on October 4.

Three generations of the Maxey family operate the farm, including Katharine, her spouse Keith, their son James, and Keith's mother Doreen.

The dimensions vary from tiny tennis ball-sized pumpkins to XXXL varieties, which match the size of an exercise ball.

They've been cultivating them since the 70s.
