Security footage shows the moments 60-year-old father Artemios Mintzas allegedly opened fire from the window of his unit in Sydney's inner west on Sunday night, stopping traffic as bullets were launched at cars, police and buildings.
Mintzas was refused bail at Burwood Courthouse over 18 charges of shooting with intent to murder, and seven firearm-related offences.
Mintzas allegedly fired at people and cars at random on Georges River Road in Croydon Park.
As police arrived on the scene, a bullet was fired at the windscreen of their car. An officer drew their weapon and made their way towards the unknown, but was forced to retreat.
The tactical unit arrived shortly after for backup, armed with guns and shields, as people were trapped in their cars.
