NORFOLK, Va. — The 13News Now Weather Impact Team has declared a "Weather Impact Alert" for Sunday due to the potential for heavy rainfall, gusty winds, and tidal flooding.

We’re closely monitoring the potential for a coastal storm to develop along the Southeast coast as we head into the weekend. Confidence is high that a storm will form, but there’s still quite a bit of uncertainty regarding the track and how much of an impact it may have here in Hampton Roads.

Right now, most models agree that an area of low pressure will organize somewhere near the Carolina coastline late Friday into Saturday. The key question is how close it tracks to the coast.
