New Delhi: In a shocking case of violence against medical professionals, the on-duty Chief Medical Officer (CMO) and other doctors, including a female doctor at Delhi's Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel Hospital, were allegedly verbally abused, assaulted , and threatened by a drunk male and a female attendant of a patient.

It has been alleged that while the doctors were attending to a patient brought in with emergency complications in the hospital's OPD, the two attendants not only disrupted their work but also assaulted the doctors in an intoxicated state.
