(Minot, ND) — The Minot City Council has voted six-to-one to approve its 2026 budget. Last night, council members approved the 211-million-dollar budget during a second reading while making just over half a dozen last-minute changes. The line-item adjustments included approving over one-million-dollars to upgrade or replace the city’s fleet of heavy-duty vehicles and equipment, and identifying 200-thousand-dollars for a façade improvement program out of the economic development portion of sales tax funding. Officials also attempted but failed to amend the budget to convert the 200-thousand-dollars in tax relief into the unfunded liability of the Pension Trust Fund.
