Naomi Osaka came from behind to beat Canada’s Leylah Fernandez at the Wuhan Open on Tuesday, winning in three sets.
It was another strong showing from Osaka, who has a challenging path through the draw, as she battled to a 4-6, 7-5, 6-3 win.
Despite a recent upset at the China Open, Osaka looked sharp in Wuhan and handled the Washington Open champion well.
Up next for Osaka is either Linda Noskova or Yulia Putintseva. The win adds to what’s already been an impressive season for the four-time Grand Slam champion.
