Heavy rain lashed several parts of Delhi-NCR on Tuesday evening, catching many commuters by surprise as dark clouds blanketed the sky and prompting Delhi Airport to issue an advisory warning passengers of potential disruptions in flight operations.

According to the India Meteorological Department, parts of central, southwest, west, northwest, and north Delhi are likely to witness moderate rain, thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, hail, and gusty winds.

The Regional Meteorological Centre in New Delhi issued a yellow alert for west and south Delhi, while an orange alert was sounded for the rest of the national capital. Additionally, the Regional Meteorological Centre in Lucknow has issued a yellow alert for Noida and Ghaziabad.
