One week after one of ESPN’s most recognizable college football commentators, Paul Finebaum, announced he was mulling a run for the U.S. Senate as a Republican in Alabama, conservative sports commentator Clay Travis reported that Finebaum had missed several regular appearances on ESPN.
“Disney/ESPN has removed @finebaum from appearing on @ESPN,” Travis, the founder of sports website Outkick, reported on X.
Very quickly, an ESPN communications staffer responded with a missive in all capital letters: “TOTALLY FALSE.”
