VANDERBURGH COUNTY, Ind. (WEVV) — We're getting a glimpse at the progress made so far at the site of the new Vanderburgh County Jail expansion site.
The Sheriff's Office posted that the first steel beams were set on Monday.
We're told Captain Dave Guetling and Chief Deputy Nathan Sugarman also had the chance to set one of the beams themselves.
The new addition will add 172 beds, including a dedicated mental health unit, to better meet the needs of inmates and the community.
