Announcing the decision, Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that the Central Government stands firmly with the people of Jammu & Kashmir during this time of distress. They announced that ₹171 crore is being directly deposited into the bank accounts of 8.5 lakh farmers in Jammu and Kashmir under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme.
Dr Jitendra Singh thanked PM Modi and Chouhan, and further informed that more than 5000 houses to be reconstructed damaged during recent rain, flood, and landslide-affected areas of Jammu division, with immediate relief, financial assistance, and technical support for rehab
