If Ruth Young-Loaeza has her way, the bed linen her Huntsville-based NEET Sheets company produces will become as much of a household word as Windex or Kleenex.

She took a step in that direction when she took home the $750,000 grand prize in the “Meet the Drapers” Halobama Pitch Competition in Tuscaloosa.

“I’m a former housekeeper,” Young-Loaeza told AL.com . “I never thought I would be doing what I’m doing. I never thought I would win. I thought at least more people will know NEET Sheets. I thought I’m here to promote NEET Sheets … and hopefully meet someone else who can help bring Neet Sheets to more eyes, ears and more pockets.”

She did more than that, according to Jesse Draper, founding partner of Halogen Ventures, which put on the competition in partnership with Innovate Alabama.
