The National Hurricane Center on Tuesday said it would begin advisories on newly formed Tropical Storm Jerry that could threaten the Caribbean.

The NHC’s first advisory will come at 11 a.m. with the system skipping over the tropical depression phase and forming directly into the season’s 10th named storm.

As of the NHC’s 8 a.m. tropical outlook, the broad area of low pressure associated with a tropical wave dubbed Invest 95L had shown continued organization of its showers and thunderstorms overnight located about 1,000 miles east of the Windward Islands.
