Desert Mission United Methodist Church will host a “Blessing of the Animals” event at 9 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 1 on the church grounds, 7373 E. Dixileta Drive in Scottsdale.

Everyone in the community is invited to bring their beloved pets on leashes or in carriers for a brief individual blessing and a treat, according to a press release.

Participants are welcome to take photographs. Families may also bring a collar, toy, or photo to be blessed on behalf of shy pets or even animal companions that have passed away. A moment of remembrance will honor pets that are no longer with us, and participants can bring a photo to place on the remembrance table.
