A fire has ripped through a home in Tavistock and left the property severely damaged. Two people have been arrested following the fire which is suspected to have been arson.
The blaze began in a semi-detached home in Ford Street at around 4.20pm on Monday, October 6. Thick black smoke was seen coming from the property.
The fire had taken hold by the time firefighters arrived on the scene. The first floor was significantly damaged by fire, while the ground floor was completely destroyed by smoke, Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said.
Devon and Cornwall Police said: "Two people have been arrested on suspicion of arson following damage being caused to a property on Ford Street, Tavistock.
