Joséphine-Charlotte of Luxembourg did not get to see her beloved grandson become grand duke, though her early life set the stage for his eventual rule. Guillame V of Luxembourg was proclaimed grand duke this past weekend after his father, Henri of Luxembourg, officially abdicated. Joséphine-Charlotte of Luxembourg was his paternal grandmother, and although she passed away in January 2005, two decades after her death her legacy is still very present in the Grand Duchy.
