Tropical Storm Jerry has formed far out in the Atlantic Ocean. What was once Invest 95L is now a named storm with winds near 45 mph. Jerry is moving quickly to the west at 24 mph and could get stronger over the next day or two. Advertisement
Jerry could become a hurricane later this week as it moves toward the northern Leeward Islands. There are no coastal watches or warnings right now, but people in the islands should be on the lookout.
IMPACTS:
Waves: Swells and rough surf could rach the Leeward Islands by Thursday, bringing a risk of strong currents and rip tides.
Rain & Wind: Gusty winds and pockets of rain possible for island areas late in the week.
No impacts expected for the U.S. at this time.
