SAN JOSE – The San Jose Sharks’ season-opening roster was officially released on Tuesday, with center Michael Misa and defenseman Sam Dickinson on the team as expected and forward Egor Afanasyev and defenseman Jack Thompson among a group designated as injured and/or non-roster players.

Also designated as injured and/or non-roster players were defensemen Lucas Carlsson and Ryan Ellis, center Logan Couture, and goalie Carey Price.

Couture, who spent his entire 15-year career with the Sharks, announced in April that his playing days were over due to chronic injury. Price, acquired last month from the Montreal Canadiens, and Ellis, acquired from the Philadelphia Flyers on Sunday, are also not expected to play again.
