ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) - Bragging rights are on the line for Virginia’s water utilities as they compete this week in the 35th Annual Water Distribution Seminar and Utility Rodeo.

WDBJ7’s own Kate Capodanno was invited to be one of the judges to sip tap water from across the commonwealth.

The goal is to judge the elements like clarity, taste and odor.

But beyond the taste test, there are vendors, seminars and other competitions that highlight the importance of this vital resource.
