With just six rounds remaining in the 2025 Formula 1 season, George Russell is yet to sign a new contract with Mercedes . After his commanding win at the Singapore Grand Prix , Mercedes boss Toto Wolff claimed that “good things take a while” when explaining the delay to the new deal.

Russell joined Mercedes from Williams in 2022 and his contract with the team was later extended until the end of 2025. That deal is now nearing its end, and the 27-year-old remains locked in discussions over his future with the team.

Both parties have remained tight-lipped on the progress of these talks, but Wolff admitted after the Singapore GP that the pair were now working on the "detail" of the new contract.
