Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday spoke with Russian President Vladimir Putin to extend warm greetings on his 73rd birthday, reaffirming the special and privileged strategic partnership between India and Russia.

During their telephone conversation, PM Modi conveyed his best wishes for President Putin’s good health and success in all his endeavours. The two leaders reviewed the progress in the bilateral agenda and reiterated their shared commitment to further strengthen cooperation across diverse sectors.

PM Modi conveyed that he looks forward to welcoming Putin to India for the 23rd India-Russia Annual Summit in December, which will coincide with the 15th anniversary of the elevation of the strategic partnership to the level of a “special and privileged” relationship.
