A key M5 link road is blocked in both directions this afternoon. It is being reported that an obstruction is causing traffic problems on the B4509 between Falfield and Tortworth, close to junction 14 of the M5 motorway.

The nature of the obstruction on the carriageway is unclear at the time of writing. We will keep you updated with our live blog below.

Traffic and travel monitoring site Inrix reports: "B4509 in both directions partially blocked, queueing traffic due to obstruction on the road from M5 J14 (Thornbury/Falfield, Falfield) to Tortworth Road (Tortworth)."
