WASHINGTON -- President Donald Trump claimed Monday that hip-hop mogul Diddy -- whose real name is Sean Combs -- has asked him for a pardon. Trump revealed the alleged request while addressing reporters Monday from the Oval Office.
Trump’s comments on Combs came while being asked if he would consider a pardon for convicted sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell.
“I have a lot of people who’ve asked me for pardons. I call him ‘Puff Daddy’ has asked me for a pardon,” Trump said, referring to the name used by Combs in the 1990s and early 2000s.
Representatives for Combs have not publicly confirmed a pardon request.
The revelation came just three days after Combs was sentenced to 50 months in federal prison. Combs was convicted in July on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. P
