Forward Milan Lucic will remain in St. Louis to rehabilitate a lower-body injury, keeping alive the possibility of signing a contract with the Blues, general manager Doug Armstrong said Tuesday morning.
Lucic attended Blues training camp on professional tryout hoping to earn a contract in St. Louis, but injured his groin during practice on Sept. 23 and returned to play the final three preseason games for the Blues. Armstrong said the Blues could sign Lucic to another PTO once he’s healthy again.
“We were hoping to the answer by now, but when he got hurt early in camp, and was fighting through it, my belief was you’ve got to get healthy to give yourself the best chance,” Armstrong said. “An old pro, he kept fighting through it, to the point where he couldn’t any longer. I talked to him ab
