We must continue funding diabetes research

As the parent of an adult who lives with diabetes, the advances that have come out of diabetes research at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and at the Center for Disease Control (CDC) have allowed my daughter to have effective care and a variety of treatment options since her diagnosis 37 years ago.

That is why I am grateful that lawmakers took bipartisan action to preserve funding for the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK).
