GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — After a cold front swept through Michigan late Monday night, another is already on the way bring fall temperatures with it.

High temperatures for the middle of the week will be below average for the first time since Sept. 8. These cooler daytime temperatures will lead to brisk nights. Low temperatures Wednesday through Friday will hover in the 30s and 40s.

Thursday morning in particular could bring some patchy frost to West Michigan. Frost develops when temperatures slip below 36 degrees, while a freeze requires temperatures to fall under 32 degrees. Because low temperatures being on the cusp of a frost, damage to plants and crops is not expected.
