**Tram Collision Leaves Boy with Serious Injuries**

A young boy has sustained potentially life-threatening injuries after being struck by a tram in Wythenshawe. The incident occurred this evening on Brownley Road, near the Crossacres tram stop. Emergency services, including police, paramedics, and fire crews, swiftly responded to the scene.

Greater Manchester Police confirmed the seriousness of the situation, stating that the boy was taken to hospital following the collision. A police spokesperson remarked, "Emergency services are currently responding to reports of a serious incident on the tram network at Crossacres tram stop in Wythenshawe. A boy was struck by a tram and has been taken to hospital with life-changing and potentially life-threatening injuries."

In response to the incident, tram services to Manchester Airport have been suspended. The police have cordoned off the area, and witnesses reported seeing paramedics treating the boy at the scene. An air ambulance was also present, alongside multiple fire engines and ambulances.

The North West Ambulance Service confirmed that they received a 999 call at approximately 3.37pm regarding the collision. They dispatched advanced clinicians and an operational commander to assist at the scene. The area remains secured, with road closures in effect on Brownley Road, Crossacres Road, and Poundswick Lane.

Transport for Greater Manchester has stated, "We are supporting Greater Manchester Police and the North West Ambulance Service in their response. Tram services between Roundthorn and the Airport are suspended, with services likely to be disrupted for several hours.
