The Supreme Court, with its carefully cultivated conservative majority, has emerged from the shadow docket and is now once again committing its constitutional burglaries in the light of day. The Court is kicking off its formal session with the case of Chiles v. Salazar which seeks to overturn the bans on so-called "conversion therapy," the practice of brainwashing The Gay out of children. The group that brought the petition, the radically misnamed Alliance Defending Freedom, is a pestiferous, Christianist operation engaged in an extended sex panic.
