For the first time in three years, Michigan is represented on the preseason All-Big Ten men’s basketball team.
Yaxel Lendeborg was announced on Tuesday as part of the 10-man squad selected by a group of media members. Lendeborg will be suiting up for Michigan for the first time after transferring from UAB.
Last season, the 6-foot-8 forward led UAB in points (17.7 per game), rebounds, (11.4), assists (4.2), blocks (1.8) and steals (1.7). He was just the second player in Division I history, along with Larry Bird, to tally 600 points, 400 rebounds and 150 assists in a season.
Lendeborg was a two-time first-team all-conference selection and defensive player of the year in the American Athletic Conference. He said recently that one of his goals to be be the Big Ten player of the year.
