After weeks of threatening to do so , President Donald Trump is set to deploy hundreds of Illinois and Texas National Guardsmen in Chicago. The deployment goes against vehement objections from Gov. JB Pritzker, who labelezed the move an "invasion of Illinois by the federal government."
The Illinois Attorney General’s Office filed a lawsuit on Oct. 6 asking U.S. District Judge April M. Perry to stop the deployment, but the judge decided to allow it.
Why is the National Guard deploying in Chicago?
