BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) -- The Louisiana NAACP is calling for the resignation of Louisiana State Police Col. Robert Hodges over the handling of the Kyren Lacy case.
“In our view, Colonel Hodges failed the public by attempting to justify the incident involving Kyren Lacy,” the organization stated. “This is unacceptable, and we are calling for his immediate resignation.”
Groups, including the Louisiana Democratic Party and the Louisiana Legislative Black Caucus, request an independent investigation to restore public trust. Attorney General Liz Murill said Monday she was in contact with State Police regarding an independent review of the case. On Tuesday, she issued a new statement after the video was released.
