The season within the season in the Atlantic (August 20 to October 10) is coming to a close, but hurricane season continues through November 30. It's been a slower year than previous years, and the U.S. has only had one direct landfalling storm so far (Tropical Storm Chantall). On Tuesday, October 7, though, the 10th named storm of the 2025 season formed in the tropical Atlantic.
Tropical Storm Jerry is quickly moving westward, well east of the Windward Islands in the central Atlantic.
