LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Trade tensions are causing a sharp decline in U.S. spirits exports, according to a new report.
U.S. spirits exports fell 9% year-over-year in the second quarter of 2025, according to a new report released by the American Distilled Spirits Exports
According to the American Distilled Spirits Exports 2025 Mid-Year Report , the decline was particularly pronounced in key international markets, with the European Union, Canada, the United Kingdom and Japan all showing steep drops in imports of American spirits.
Canada experienced the most dramatic shift, with exports plummeting 85% compared to the same period last year.
The four markets collectively account for 70% of total U.S. spirits exports.
