Pictures show a zoo animal having its teeth filed down to prevent a dental emergency .

Lino, a vicuña at Highland Wildlife Parkin Scotland, had been experiencing issues with his lower incisors.

Staff noticed were beginning to grow forward instead of upwards.

Left untreated, this could cause Lino to struggle to eat, as well as affect his overall health.

Lino was anesthetized by the park’s veterinary team, who filed down the tooth in a painless 10-minute procedure.

Pictures taken during the trim show staff using a tool to carefully file the teeth, before trimming Lino’s toenails and wrapping him in a blanket while he regained consciousness.
