DETROIT -- Baby Watch for Josh Naylor appears to have had its happy moment, as the Mariners’ first baseman returned to the team on Tuesday for Game 3 of the American League Division Series against the Tigers and was in the starting lineup, batting fifth and playing first base.
Naylor originally did not fly with the Mariners to Detroit and was away from the club during their workout at Comerica Park on Monday, as he and his wife, Chantel Collado, had been awaiting the birth of their first child. However, Mariners manager Dan Wilson wouldn’t confirm if that was why he was away from the team.
“I'm sure Josh would be happy to talk about whatever, so I would just point you in that direction at this moment,” Wilson said. “But we’re excited to have him back. We're excited he's here with us
