The Vancouver Canucks ’ official opening night roster from Monday is already getting a rewrite.
Defenceman Victor Mancini, who was sent down to the AHL’s Abbotsford Canucks on Sunday as part of getting down to the league-mandated 23-man roster, was called up from Abbotsford on Tuesday morning. Defenceman Pierre-Olivier Joseph, 26, has been missing from practices this week with an undisclosed injury and was placed on injured reserve Tuesday, retroactive to Sept. 30.
Joseph injured his groin in practice that Tuesday, head coach Adam Foote said two days later. Joseph last played Sept. 28 vs. Edmonton.
Abbotsford opens the regular season and defence of its AHL title on Friday, with a visit to the Henderson Silver Knights. With injuries to veteran blueliners Guillaume Brisebois and Jett
