Truly, all I can say here is that Duran Lantink’s first show as the new creative director of Jean Paul Gaultier is not safe for work unless your boss doesn’t mind you looking at absurd trompe l’oeil penises. I found it remarkably immature and mostly a waste of everyone’s time, the few interesting pieces totally overshadowed by the bold type stupidity of the rest of it. The New York Times, in fact, called it “ridiculous,” “the fashion equivalent of an unsolicited crotch shot,” and “puerile.” It is honestly…absurd. Just go to Ahhs and buy a joke apron and be done with it! Save yourself some money!
