PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. (WMBB) - Panama City Beach's leaning landmark is now just a memory.

The infamous tilted house on Gulf Drive has been reduced to a pile of debris.

The house was first damaged during Hurricane Michael and rebuilt. Then it was knocked off its foundation again by a tornado in January 2024.

It became a tourist attraction, but also an eyesore and a threat to the homes on either side of it.

The neighbors sued, which led to a court battle that lasted more than a year.

This summer, the judge set a deadline for the owner to demolish it or pay a $1,000 a day fine. The demolition began about two weeks ago.

Crews are inspecting the two neighboring homes to see if they can be repaired. We'll keep you updated on the future of those properties as well.
