An appeals court ruled that a Livingston Parish librarian's defamation lawsuit against conservative bloggers who implied in online posts that she was promoting porn in libraries will be heard again in the trial court.

Louisiana's First Circuit Court of Appeal ruled on Tuesday to reverse and remand the original ruling from a district court in October 2022, which had dismissed the defamation lawsuit filed by school librarian Amanda Jones.

21st Judicial District Court Judge Erika Sled dismissed the lawsuit , ruling that Jones was a limited public figure and that the bloggers' posts were opinions. The judge also later denied the librarian's request for a new trial.
