It was a frosty morning in southeastern Manitoba, but temperatures did not drop near as low as areas further west.

Scott Kehler is a meteorologist with Weatherlogics. He says a number of weather stations in western Manitoba showed a low of -10 degrees overnight. Those areas are near the Saskatchewan border.

"Generally, across Westman it was a killing freeze, with temperatures well below zero for several hours," he adds.

Kehler says the overnight low in Steinbach was -1, while Winnipeg was -2.

"There are some areas that did have a decent frost," he says. "But many areas did escape as the frost was a lot patchier than further west."
