CLARK COUNTY, Ind. — The City of Charlestown is joining forces with The Center for Women and Families to host a free community self-defense class as part of Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

The event takes place Saturday, Oct. 11, at the Arts & Enrichment Center (999 Water Street) from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., with instruction starting at 11:30 a.m.

Organizers say the goal is to empower participants with practical skills while also raising awareness about the importance of healthy relationships and community support for survivors.

Attendees who stop by and sign a pledge to advocate for healthy relationships and support survivors will receive a free T-shirt, designed by local artist Corinne Ramsey.
