A pedestrian was killed in a collision with a train early Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 7 in Kent.
“Puget Sound Fire and Kent PD are on location of a fatality train/pedestrian accident in the area of 1st Avenue South and East Willis Street , ” according to a X post at about 12:18 p.m. by Puget Sound Fire.
Numerous BNSF Railway railroad crossings are closed for an accident investigation, according to a city of Kent traffic advisory. When the crossings will reopen remains to be determined.
The following crossings are closed, as of about 1 p.m.:
• East Smith Street
• East Meeker Street
• East Gowe Street
• East Titus Street
• East Willis Street (SR 516)
The James Street and South 259th Street crossings are open.
