The Nashville International Airport announced on Tuesday afternoon that flights would be reduced due to a shortage of air traffic controllers.
According to a post on social media , the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority was notified of the change in flight arrivals and departures by the Federal Aviation Administration at 1:25 p.m. Changes were set to begin at 2:30 p.m.
The post also said that the reduction in the number of flights will remain in effect until further notice, and all airlines have been informed, citing the FAA for "sole responsibility for the National Airspace System." The airport advised travelers to check the status of their flight with their airline before arriving at BNA.
