TEMPE, Ariz. — Arizona state troopers responded over the weekend to a crash on the Loop 202 involving a car being "pancaked" against a concrete barrier by a semi truck.

On Oct. 4, the Arizona Department of Public Safety reported responding to a collision at the Loop 101 junction involving a passenger car that had been squished by a large commercial vehicle.

The car's driver survived the compaction with only minor injuries, DPS said.

Witnesses told DPS the at-fault driver was allegedly street racing with another driver who has not yet been identified. DPS said the at-fault driver is facing charges of reckless driving, endangerment and criminal street racing.
