CLEVELAND (WJW) – New construction will begin on Interstate 90 in Cleveland, and the Ohio Department of Transportation wants drivers to be aware.
According to ODOT, I-90 eastbound at W.117th St. will be reduced to two lanes beginning on Friday, October 17, at 7 p.m. This lane closure is scheduled to be in place through mid-November for emergency bridge repairs.
"Work is anticipated to last 30 days," an ODOT post on X said. "Crews will be working seven days a week to finish ASAP."
ODOT asks that drivers detour from I-90 west to W.140th St. to I-90 east.
A major rehabilitation of I-90 between Hillard Boulevard and West Boulevard in Cleveland, Rocky River and Lakewood is estimated to be completed by the fall of 2028.
According to ODOT, the road repairs schedule is weather-dependent.
