LAS CRUCES, N.M. (KRQE) – The president of New Mexico State University said student enrollment for the fall semester is up. Dr. Valerio Ferme, who officially started as president in January, said he attributes the increase to being flexible with students' needs, offering them a variety of classes both on and off campus.
Ferme also mentioned that since COVID-19, NMSU has been laser-focused on rebuilding a better college experience overall. "In the last two or three years, we have been rebuilding. Our retention numbers fall-to-fall are up, I see a real good trend, we're really focusing on keeping the students that we get in and graduating them," said Dr. Ferme.
In addition to improving enrollment numbers, Ferme recently appointed Joe Fields as NMSU's new athletic director, marking his firs
