AURORA, Ind. (WXIX) - Dearborn County Prosecutor Lynn Deddens is seeking life without parole against a man accused of killing his ex-girlfriend’s new boyfriend, wrote Deddens in a social media post Tuesday.

Brent Wellman, 33, is charged with the murder of 39-year-old Dennis Adams Jr., Prosecutor Deddens announced in August.

Adams, who was from Erlanger, recently started dating Wellman’s ex-girlfriend, according to the prosecutor.

Wellman had contacted his ex several times in the days leading up to Aug. 14, Deddens explained.

The 33-year-old asked if he could store some property at her house in North Vernon, and then, later, if he could wish their child happy birthday, the prosecutor said.
