CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - A man living in the woods behind Devonshire Park in east Charlotte has been charged after he stabbed another man to death on Monday afternoon, according to an affidavit.

Charlotte police said around 4 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 6, officers responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call on Barrington Drive near Devonshire Elementary.

When officers arrived, they found a male suffering from a large wound to his stomach, and he was pronounced dead by Medic.

The affidavit said that detectives got surveillance video from a nearby Shell gas station and saw the victim allegedly hit another man, later identified as Natt Soth, with a large wooden stick and a slingshot. The victim then went into the woods, and Soth followed him.
