The Kerala High Court on Tuesday directed Malayalam actor Dulquer Salmaan to approach the customs authority for the release of his high-end vehicle, a 2004 model Land Rover Defender, which was seized by officials during a raid last month.

The seizure is part of a large-scale investigation launched by the Customs Preventive Unit in Kochi, which is probing alleged irregularities in the import and registration of luxury vehicles.

During the hearing, Justice Ziyad Rahman A.A. made it clear that the court would not intervene at this stage of the investigation. “I am of the view that… the investigation is only at the initial stage and it is not proper for this court to enter into any finding," the judge observed.
