South Dakotans now know the people chosen to help shape the future of the state’s correctional rehabilitation services ahead of the construction of a new prison in Sioux Falls.

Gov. Larry Rhoden announced in an Oct. 7 news release the membership of the Correctional Rehabilitation Task Force, an ad hoc committee created via executive order shortly after the governor signed a special session bill on Sept. 23 to app ropriate $650 million to the state Department of Corrections for the purchase of the land and construction of a 1,500-bed men's prison facility in northeast Sioux Falls.

The task force will work to "determine the best path forward for expanding rehabilitation services as the state plans for the new prison," according to the news release.
