A new cover version of Alice Cooper’s “Welcome to My Nightmare” is a long-awaited dream for a couple of metro area bands.

The hard rock group Artificial Agent has teamed with the Motor City Horns — whose members have toured with Bob Seger’s Silver Bullet Band, Oasis’ Noel Gallagher and his High Flying Birds and the Who — on the new track, which has just been released via all major streaming platforms. A lyric video was also created and is on YouTube and social media.

Artificial Agent opened for Cooper during 2011 at the DTE Energy Music Theatre (now Pine Knob), while the Motor City Horns played on the Detroit-born shock rocker’s 2021 album “Detroit Stories,” which was partly recorded at Rust Belt Studios in Royal Oak.
